havelYesterday, a requiem mass of stunning beauty was sung among the gothic splendours of Prague’s St Vitus’ Cathedral as a small brave nation said goodbye to one of its greatest sons in a moving ceremony of great dignity.

Vaclav Havel was what we might call a ‘liberal democrat’, but although we do not share his liberalism we can nevertheless hail a man of astonishing principle who led his people to freedom from under the oppression of leftist tyranny.  In any case he was far more of a patriot than are any of our ‘Liberal Democrats’.  As such, as a fighter against Marxism and Socialism and as one who in his life asserted the reality of right and wrong, his passing got the minimum of attention from the BBC and the rest of the leftist media.

Havel rejected Leftist Nihilism

It is in his dedication to Truth that Havel has made his greatest contribution in the fight against the leftist nihilism that afflicts our country and the multiculturalism and other ‘isms’ that flow from it.  For as well as being the leader of his country, Havel was an intellectual who contradicted nihilism’s assertion that there is no truth that we do not make for ourselves.

Imprisoned by Leftism.

He went to prison under the communists because he refused to bow the knee to a lie – the lie of Marxism.  We can indeed know truth, he thought, because we can know a lie, just as he knew that communism was a lie.  And living in this knowledge of what was a lie was to live in the truth, and that was more important than being right.

The Lie we live under - Cultural Marxism

We in this country know what is a lie – the Marxist lie of political correctness that tells us that all are actually equal in every respect when we know they are not, and ought to be equal in our affections when this is psychologically impossible.  And knowing this lie is more important for nationalist of every faction than that any one of us is right.

Never forget the Moral High Ground if we are to win

We should at all times remember Havel’s belief.  So particularly apposite at this time of year, that truth and love will conquer.  We should never hate our enemies – those who would destroy us - even when we reject them.
