scalesJudge not, that ye be not judged.” (Matthew 7:1)  I normally quote from the New International Version, but some passages sound so much better in the King James Bible.

The British National Party is in difficulty, and a lot of that has to do with the various allegations which are flying about at the moment.  Some of the allegations relate to people I know personally, although I refuse to name anyone.

We have a right to be concerned about what is going on in the party, but I feel it proper to urge caution. First of all, we should reflect upon the fact that allegations are not always true. We are hardly doing the party any favours if we rush to judge people on the basis of what might turn out to be malicious rumours.

Second, even where we can be confident that an allegation is true, we should still perhaps take time to reflect before we rush in to judge. I am far from perfect, and there are things in my past life that I prefer to forget about. I realise however that any one of these things might emerge to cause me embarrassment in the future.

My own take on the specific allegations that have been made, for what it is worth, is as follows.

First, I cannot approve of violent thugs being allowed to remain in the party when they could and should be expelled.

Second, although I do not approve of the party employing IRA supporters, I accept that the party is bound by employment law. To dismiss a party employee for holding offensive views would almost certainly result in an employment tribunal claim.  Nevertheless, I would appreciate it if the party chairman would at least state that it is regrettable that people with offensive views have found their way onto the party’s payroll.

Third, I am not happy about the party being associated with pornographers.

Fourth, while I tend to take a fairly conservative view of relationships, I do not think that it is necessarily wrong for a man to have an affair with a woman young enough to be his daughter, provided that she is an adult.

Finally, I am aware that lots of people do stupid and in some cases illegal things after a night on the tiles.  Frankly I do not think that lesbian kissing ranks very highly on the scale of what not to do when drunk. I am not condoning it, but merely putting it into perspective. It hardly deserves to be ranked alongside drink driving, fighting, shouting obscenities, urinating in shop doorways, and having sex in alleyways.

Let us not forget that we are up against political enemies who support illegal foreign wars, going soft on crime (especially where Muslim paedophiles are concerned), and allowing millions of people to fester on the dole queues when they could and should be working. For the time being at least I am still proud to remain a member of the British National Party.
