simpkinssmA British National Party town councillor for Corsham Town Council has resigned from the party with one of the most pathetic and cowardly excuses I have ever had to read or listen to on the BBC.

Michael Simpkins, who own a taxi company in Corsham, was elected unopposed in 2007, appears to have decided on the spur of the moment to resign from the party because of the fact that the Party is in debt and has not paid some of their bills on time.

Therefore I am disappointed to hear that The British National Party is not paying its bills.  I know from personal experience of two local printers who had to wait six months for payment and that was only after a lot of badgering to Head Office by myself and other officials to get them paid.

Now it is pointless pointing out to Simpkins that all the major political parties are MILLIONS in debt and that the country is TRILLIONS in debt.  What is done is done.  He has resigned.  But it is the manner of his leaving that sickens me.

Simpkins says in his interview with the BBC that he remains a Nationalist.  I do not think so. A real British Nationalist would have handed in his letter of resignation and walked away like a man without damaging Our Patriotic Cause.

But not Simpkins.  Simpkins went public big style by blasting out his resignation on his site, making a press release and even worse, arranging a TV interview with the BBC, where he preceded not just to give his pathetic excuse for leaving the British National Party but by attacking his former comrades also.  Those are not the actions of a nationalist, they are the actions of a coward and traitor.

Simpkins had already made it known that he was disenchanted with the BNP, after what he perceived as their failure to make spectacular breakthroughs in the General Election.  So is this what this is all about?

Was Simpkins a political carpetbagger who sought to increase his personal position and wealth within his local community?  I think so.  Because instead of doing the decent thing and resigning from the council and allowing the electorate to decide who they wish to represent them, Simpkins has stated his intention to cling on for as long as possible.  Coward.

Incidentally the film footage from 2007 was of bussed in UAF thugs led by Weyman Bennett who recently faced conspiracy to comit violence charges.  There was no local protest against the BNP in 2007.
