I am as they say a bit of a social animal being equally at home in a dinner jacket or in jeans. It was at a recent shindig in Wetherspoons that I came across an excellent article by the Chairman of Wetherspoons a Mr Tim Martin, who spoke with great knowledge about the current legislation effecting the pub trade of which he belongs.
Being a patriot I believe that the British public house is special and a fundamental part of the British way of life. The fact that pubs are under threat as never before is a damning testimony to this government and its predecessors attempts at the destruction of our traditional heritage and culture. Any patriotic movement must support the British pub trade for no other reason than this fact. Like the church, the pub has always been a part of us. A place for social gatherings, and a place for revolution. Great matters of state are settled in the dinner parties of the grand estates and the local pub.
People within patriotic organisations have constantly failed to engage with those people and organisations outside of the movement who, while not being part of the Nationalist/Patriotic movement would be by their support either open or otherwise beneficial to the future well being of our Patriotic organisations.
This failure to engage has kept us on the fringe of popular politics. There are for example eight million pensioners, and forty one million Christians who have been abandoned by all of the mainstream political organisations.
They may not share our absolute political belief in Nationalism or patriotism, yet we may be surprised to find that there is enough common ground for us to gain the support of such groups.
We will I believe see in May the total failure of Nationalist politics, despite the efforts of its hard working activists, because we have failed to engage with the very people who would most likely support us.
GA and Jim Dowson are both correct, but for different reasons, when they say that Nationalism is a toxic brand. It was made so when the leaders of the various organisations became toxic, and poisoned their various products. Steve Squire proves this point by giving a gift of bad publicity to the media and the left, while the NF brand is tainted, and has been for some time, despite its new direction.
The May elections are important to Nationalist politics in that they will provide the yardstick of support for the public of all political orders, and no doubt the mainstream parties will suffer too. The winner will be the abstainer who decides to support no one. Because to many there is no one of substance to vote for.
Here lies the lesson of failure as Nationalism moves forward to Patriotism, that any organisation with half a brain could win with the country falling apart as it is. Yet the only party to capitalise on this fact is Respect, because they do politics and engage with the block vote (or should I say Islamic block vote).
A future Britain First/NPP government should (subject to conference approval) reduce UK duty down to the European average, and reduce the VAT on food down to 7%. I am of the opinion that alcohol like guns are inanimate objects. People cause problems not drink, which when taken in moderation is beneficial to the well being of the nation.
There is the common ground with the pub trade.
Britain First has been going for less than a year, yet already it has defeated numerous enemies, Tesco and the NUT amongst them. Yet they still have much work to do.
I am sure that saving the British pub trade can be added to that list.
